Installing the trash-can icons with system 7:
Step 1: Make a copy of the System file. Open ResEdit and go to the folder of the new trash-can icon you want to use.
Step 2: Inside the folder of the empty trash-can icon you wish to use, you will find a file named Icon. Note: the icon file is invisible in the finder. Open the icon file in ResEdit.
Step 3: Select all the trash icon resources and copy them. Then open the copy of the System file in ResEdit.
Step 4: Paste the trash icon resources into the copy of the System file.
If a dialog box asks you if you want to replace, cancal, or make a inique ID, click on the Unique ID button.
Step 5: Renumber the standard trash icons by removing their minus signs. The empty trash can ic14, ic14, ICN#, ics, ics4, and ics8 icons you just pasted in should all be renumbered -3993.
Step 6: Repeat steps 2 through 5 except use the full trash-can icon and renumber the icon family resources -3984.
Step 7: Save the changes, drag the copy of the System file into the Ststem Folder, quit ResEdit, and Restart. Make sure you only have one copy of the System file!
P.S. If you have a computer that I didn't include in the first set send me mail telling me what kind of computer you have and I'll do my best to make an OS Icon of your computer!
P.P.S. If you have any other applications that you want put into OS I will try as hard as I can to just send me the Icon of what you want put into an OS Icon.
